SOUTHERN STYLE NOW TRADITIONAL HOME SHOW
Savannah, Georgia
Traditional Home magazine and former Domino and Lonny magazines editor Robert LeLeux chose Bridget Beari Designs as one of 23 designers to reimagine the 1854 Greek Revival home in the heart of the Historic District of Downtown Savannah. Bridget Beari Designs founder and principal Susan Jamieson was tasked with transforming the lower-level space off the garden courtyard.
Given the space's challenging shape, size, layout and location, Jamieson created a laundry room that led to a charming gardening room where the owners could store their gardening tools as well as pot, dry herbs, create floral arrangements and admire their courtyard year-round. Her design concept embodies a mix of antique and contemporary furnishings with rustic and rattan elements to echo the outdoor vibe. Playful patterns and palettes in nature’s hues of blues, greens and yellows connect the spaces.
In the potting room, custom built-ins provide ample storage for gardening gear and a center island offers dedicated work space. She painted the custom lockers in Bridget Beari Colors “Dewey" and the custom cupboards in Bridget Beari Colors “Waikiki” with inlayed wallpaper panels in Bridget Beari Papers Buscemi “Nobu” grasscloth. She designed a custom shiplap ceiling treatment painted in her Bridget Beari Colors “Snowball” to brighten and heighten the space.
The laundry room is wallpapered in Bridget Beari Papers Scarlet O’Hara grasscloth in “Good Boy”, a beautiful, soft green blue. Custom built-in shelving and folding station surround the state-of-the-art washing machine and dryer. The homeowners were delighted with the transformation and the home is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
